The Book Store - Returns & Exchanges Policy

Check Your Order

Please inspect your order upon receipt and review all packing materials carefully, as smaller items may be packed within larger items.  If you experience any issues with your order, contact Customer Support at 866-622-1775.

Returns & Exchanges

  • Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery 
  • Items must be unused and in original condition 
  • Refunds are issued to the original form of payment   
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the item is defective, damaged, or sent in error

Non-Returnable Items

  • Clearance items and Discontinued items (final sale)
  • Special Order, Drop Ship, or Custom Items
  • Personalized or Engraved items (unless defective)

Important:

The Book Store is not responsible for spelling errors or customization mistakes submitted by the customer. Please carefully review and proofread all personalization details before submitting your order.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

  • Issues must be reported within 7 days of delivery.
  • A prepaid return label will be issued at no cost for confirmed damaged, defective, or incorrect items.

What Qualifies as a Defective Item

An item may be considered defective if:

  • It arrives physically damaged during shipment
  • It has manufacturing flaws (misprints, binding defects, missing pages, structural damage, etc.)
  • The wrong item was shipped
  • The item does not match the product description
  • Personalization or engraving was completed incorrectly due to an error by The Book Store (e.g., misspelling, incorrect rank, incorrect date, or incorrect inscription that differs from the customer's submitted order)

If the personalization matches exactly what was entered by the customer at checkout, the item will not be considered defective.

Photos of defective items may be requested to process a return/refund.

Purchases Made at The MARINE Shop

The Book Store will honor return requests for eligible non-uniform items purchased from The MARINE Shop, provided until 04/18/26:

  • The Item qualifies under the original return conditions
  • Proof of purchase is provided
  • The return is initated within the original 30-day window

Uniform-related returns will continue to be handled by The MARINE Shop under MCCS.
