"Pat Mc Gahn's Hill, April 22-23, 1951"
Print depicts "Baker's Bandits" fighting up a steep hill in Hwachon Reservoir, Korea, 23 April, 1951. The original painting was commissioned by Patrick McGahn.
Baker's Bandits of B-1-5 are shown assaulting the vital crest of Hill 313 at Hwachon Reservoir. It was a 65° slope on a 30-yard front, with no cover. Several awards were given to members of the unit: the Navy Cross, Silver and Bronze Stars, numerous Purple Hearts - and wooden crosses as well. It was most typical of the vicious hill battles that raged throughout 1951-1953 in Korea.
